Quilled Artist Series - Luncheon of the Boating Party, Renoir Greeting CardPrevious Product Next Product
The Luncheon of the Boating Party, an oil on canvas by Pierre-Auguste Renoir was created in 1881 and embodies the characteristics associated with impressionist paintings. The work depicts a floating restaurant along the Seine waterway in France with many of Renoir’s friends and loved ones present. His future wife at the time is seen in the foreground playing with a puppy.
The Artist Series artfully transforms paint strokes into paper strips using the ancient art of quilling. Each card takes several hours to make and reimagines a famous work of art into a magnificent greeting card that can either be sent and shared with loved ones or kept and framed as the work of art it is.

The fact that there are so many subjects it makes for small faces that for me are disproportionate to the quilling, I don’t like the 3D effect. The quilling is always great, but the subject takes away from the overall look.
comment similar to Georges Seurat's card, I find there is a disconnect when there are to many people & the quilling. It truly takes away for the work of the quilling.
It is always easy giving a great review, but I don't render any help if I don't mention my disappointment and it isn't in the quilling, but in the choice of the subject. The fact that this piece has several people , for me, makes for a disconnect with the quilling. The colours are always lovely, it is the same with the Pierre-Auguste Renoir card.
