The holiday season is fast approaching! In this unprecedented time, many of us are trying to figure out the best way to celebrate with our family and friends while remaining safe and healthy. By being a little creative and taking advantage of technology, you can have a festive and memorable holiday. There are many great ways to do so. Here are ten!

 Shop Online

This is the perfect time to take advantage of all that the internet has to offer. By shopping online, you can stay home and avoid the crowds at the stores. Most retailers have an online store you can order directly from. If you don’t feel comfortable shopping online, pick up the phone and call your favorite store. Many retailers are more than happy to hear directly from you and help you purchase your favorite gifts.

Holiday Decoration Party

This one seems pretty obvious but it’s still a great family activity to get in the holiday spirit. Get your loved ones together who are in your social bubble and hang Christmas lights and stockings, decorate trees, and string up some popcorn!

Video Conference and Gift Exchange

Video chat is a great way to stay in contact with your loved ones and even more so during the holidays! This year is also the perfect time to shop early and get those gifts in the mail. Use your favorite video conferencing app and open gifts together.

Holiday Meal Exchange

With family and friends that live close by, you can each prepare and exchange your homemade holiday specialties in a way that minimizes exposure but shares the delicious home cooked meals!

Bake Cookies and Mail Early to Loved Ones

Do you like to bake? Bake a large batch of your favorite treats and send them to your loved ones. Whether it is gingerbread, snowballs, peppermint blossoms, chocolate chip, snickerdoodles, or sugar cookies, your loved ones will love them all equally!

Holiday Recipe Exchange

With loved ones that live far apart, share your favorite recipes with each other so that everyone can enjoy the same delicious meals. Take advantage of video chat and enjoy each other’s company while enjoying the meals!

Outdoors Holiday Party

If you prefer to see your loved one’s in person, consider meeting at an outdoor location with a lot of space. A local park, a spacious yard, or even an empty parking lot will do. Each guest can bring their own food and enjoy each other’s company from a safe distance. You can meet in the afternoon when the temperature will be warmer.

Holiday Light Sightseeing Motorcade

Have all of you local family and friends meet at a central location and have a holiday light sightseeing motorcade! With everybody staying in their own car, you can remain socially distant.

Virtual Movie Party

You and your loved ones can watch your favorite movies together. Connect on your favorite video conference or chat app and hit play at the same time. Make it a marathon where each person picks out their favorite movie you can all watch.
